Bushido—the way of the warrior

Mission.

Mission is what makes a man. Only war trains a warrior. Here the path begins and ends.

As it is written … be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Take up his armor and take your stand against his enemy. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, the authorities, the powers of the dark world and the forces of evil in the spiritual realm.

Leaders, lead men outside the walls of the church and follow your Master into the world. This is where we are called to live and, if necessary, to die. It is a good life and an honorable death. No half measures. No negotiations.

Bushido—the way of the warrior—teaches that a warrior’s soul and a warrior’s sword are one and the same. Although there is much about the bushido code that I cannot abide, I think on this point it couldn’t be more correct. The sword and the soul, they are inseparable.

Whether they must or whether they rust, they are always wielded or yielded together.
