Biting the Big Apple …
On a week-long break from the Makers of Fire tour with IMN founder, friend, and co-conspirator, Alex McManus, but instead of flying home to L.A. I’ve flown Tina out to N.Y.C. to celebrate our anniversary in one of our favorite cities. Already I’m getting into trouble.
I tried to justify this shot as an example of “city life of 42nd street” but really it was just an excuse to catch a glimpse of the mysterious brunette in the lower left corner. I don’t think she noticed.

It’s hard work to be back in Manhattan and maintain annonymity. Here, only twenty minutes after hitting the street, I’m flagged down by an old friend (a celebrity in his own right) who wants to know where I’d recommend finding a good pizza.

After cruising Time Square for a bit we jumped on the subway and headed downtown for dinner. Passing through a street festival in Soho we found my favorite Italian cafe in Little Italy.

A clown sits in a dunk tank and casts insults at you as you try to hit the target. Hilarious.

Columbian open air BBQ.

Eating the bread here at Emilio’s is like putting heaven in your mouth.

After dinner we took another stroll. Tina and I were separated for a few minutes and then I saw the mysterious brunette again, browsing in a bookshop.

Confessions … This time I couldn’t resist. Maybe it was the wine at dinner, maybe my slight head cold was affecting my judgement, but no matter, I had to folllow her. I told myself Tina wouldn’t mind (she’s quite open-minded about these things and has generally given me permission to flirt with certain women in almost every city we’ve ever visited). I finally made my move as she was waiting for the metro at Spring & Broadway. She said she was only in town for a few days and her husband was travelling on business, so I suggested that she accompany me back to my hotel. She accepted.

She’s just waking up as I make this post (it was a long night because when we got back to the hotel we … never mind). Anyway, I’ve invited her to drive out to the Hamptons on Long Island with me today. I think she’ll accept, we really hit it off. I hope Tina doesn’t mind.
