Band of Brothers is HBO’s acclaimed 10-part television miniseries set during World War II, co-produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. The mini-series centers on the true experiences of Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, U.S. 101st Airborne Division and one of its early platoon leaders, Richard Winters. It is based on a book of the same name written by historian and biographer Stephen Ambrose.

Since its first airing in 2001, this award winning television masterpiece has proved a rich resource for numerous missional life metaphors. Now, nudged by the urging of one of our female team members (thanks, Jenna), the underground will be viewing and discussing the drama over the next few weeks. We’ll view the first two installments this Sunday evening (Jan 14) at my home in Thousand Oaks. Curtain up at 6:00, discussion to follow. Come by earlier to prep snacks and secure a good seat. Invite anyone who is considering the possibility of living (or dying) for something larger than themselves.
